Mark 6:31 / ESV
And he said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.”
Today, April 22, 2021, marks the one-year anniversary for Indelible Ink! It's hard to describe my emotions. I am grateful and so amazed at how God has provided and guided every step of the way over this past year. I know there is much ahead and I am excited to see where He leads. He is faithful.
Today, I am sitting in the living room of a vacation rental in Show Low, Arizona. I have a beautiful view of the pines, the air is cool and crisp, I'm cuddled in a blanket listening to worship music and spending time with the Father. My soul loves and longs for moments like these. I came here for a personal spiritual retreat to rest, refocus and seek direction for what's next for Indelible Ink. Life is busy and sometimes you just have to stop and reset. This time has been relaxing, restful and satisfying. God has met me, ministered to me and deposited a fresh excitement within me for what He is and will do. My heart is full of gratitude.
Tomorrow I go back home, but I take with me this perfectly beautiful experience and reminder that true rest can only be found in Him. I encourage you today to take those moments just for you and and the Heavenly Father. When you feel the tugging and calling to step away, don't ignore it or allow the demands of life to keep you from it. He calls us all to rest and, for those who struggle with this thought, it isn't a selfish act but an act of obedience. It is during those times of intentional rest that He restores our soul.
Hebrews 4:9-11 / ESV
So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his. Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience.
Mark 6:31 / ESV
And he said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.”
Matthew 11:28 / ESV
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
